Self-help

Yesterday I was exhausted, I want to sleep but I can't, my mind and my body were still very active, tired, and aching at the same time. I can't find myself to be comfortable on the bed, I felt hot and cold, I was turning and toss. I wound myself down with plenty of videos on YouTube, game, book, and instrumental music, none of these were working. For few times, I have a thought to read Bible and go through some of the Bible reading plan because I couldn't sleep. Finally after a few distractions here and there, I open the app and this is the first verse that comes out:
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 KJV

God really knows what I need everytime. I didnt expect that Bible and all it's teaching would help me to sleep soundly this morning. A lot of good words from Bible and books I have been reading, and many of inspirational teaching videos have strengthen and help me to relax. All of these  self-help words has shaped my mind to help myself settle down in time of needs, the Bible verse just enlightened me back. I also pray to God on how grateful I am today before I sleep. I did the Jesus meditation which is inhale exhale Jesus's name to help me sleep, and walah, I sleep well and soundly. I don't even aware since when I stop repeating His name.

Patience, Kindness, and Goodness
Patience is waiting without complaining. — Robin Meadows
Patience is exhibiting calmness during the midst of stressful situations. It’s showing empathy toward others when they are not doing things to our standard. Patience is produced when we support the growth in others as they are on their own journey in life. It’s not getting easily disgruntled when a delay occurs that won’t matter in 10 years, let alone 10 days. Patient people don’t become easily annoyed, agitated, nor do they show intolerance.
Kindness is being genuinely kind to anyone and everyone. It assumes that all people deserve kindness no matter the differences, viewpoints, or cultures. Kindness celebrates others and serves when there is a need. It looks out for the well-being of others and shows compassion when needed. It assists others and shows courtesy and benevolence to anyone. Kind people do not display animosity, ill will, or envy toward others.
Goodness is truly desiring to help others. It doesn’t approach or entertain sin. Goodness does the right thing and challenges other people to do the same, even if the conversation is uncomfortable. It is decent, honest, moral, honorable, virtuous, and full of integrity. Good people don’t just do the right thing; they make things right.

Entitlement

People say our young generation is entitled, it is a good topic to joke about for the stand-up comedians. Entitled is believing oneself to be inherently deserving of privileges or special treatment. I believe this is not owned by the young generation only, every generation has it, every one of us has it to some degree. This is a problem we have in society in any age, in any countries in this world. I remember when I was a kid, at night during the hot season our house was filled with mosquitos, and dengue fever are quite common in our country.  I can't remember whether I and my sister ever whined about it but I always remember the fact that my mother often stayed up late holding the insects killer racket just to defended us from the mosquitoes.
