Time is something we could not stop nor we can rewind. I feel everything in this day and age are changing very rapidly, too fast in my own judgement. I am a millennials but I feel that I am not a part of the millennials, and I have been far left behind socially. There is no way for me to keep up with the 'happening' culture including the Flex Culture.
Flex
Verb
Definition: showing off one’s status, material wealth, or well-being.
Back then, I was thought to be humble, today's parents taught their children to flex. Humility might become an unknown word and obselete in the near future. The young adult, young parents, the kids, and some of the older generation are currently embracing this culture. I don't want to judge but I adamantly despise this culture. It is vain and unnecessary.
Is the new culture going to fits with the term of growth and maturity? The standards of growth and maturity might have changed to the current cultures and technologies, and I hope I won't be a lost cause who are lost in translation.
First and foremost, hopefully I will not be the same with the world just like the Romans 12 told us:
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
