Millenial Age

I am the early generation of millennials. During my three decades of my life, I have been experiencing some minor and major events where the world was on panic and so called the Global meltdowns.

My first Global panic was the 1997-1998 Global Financial Crisis which led to the fallout of the longest regime of Indonesia presidency and also the biggest race and religion persecution on minorities in the country.

Two years later, we experiencing a fear that all the whole system around the world will collapse after 11.59 pm on 31 December 1999. We are going to the stone age in 2000. People are going to lost all the record on what they have and the world are going to be on chaos and disoriented at the beginning of the new millenium. People were spending their saving and became preppers before they lost all their money due to system failures.

Then seven years later on 2007 to 2008 we have the global financial crisis. I was working in one of the biggest Indonesia International Bank at that time. The Global financial meltdown were really highly publicised around the world and affecting almost seven billion of people around the world in panic.

In 2012, the prophecy on Mayan Calender has stop. People believe that the world will end in 2012. Some major catastrophes such as man made, natural disasters, and extra territorial things will wiped out the earth in 2012.

The Thanos so far is the current event. The first pendemic in my life Covid-19, which currently affecting 210 countries and territories in lockdowns and restrictions, 2,026,938 cases, and 129,100 accounted deaths. At the beggining of the outbreak I have seen some low life capitalist that hoarding and stocked up all the essential items. During lockdowns we see some solidarity to people and from people who are in distress because of all the isolation.

I truly live in the interesting times, and I am  very grateful Lord that I have experiencing all types of small and major events. It has broaden my horizon, it has taught me how to be positive, how to embrace the uncertainties and anxieties that comes with it, how to persevere, how to endure and be patient to everything and everyone. Everything will pass, and all is lost.

Tiny But Big

The biggest and most captivating smile that I have ever received is in 2004, when I was doing a charity work to the marginal people who live in the landfill of the wealthiest people in the country. The warmest hug that I have ever received from a stranger is in 2018 from the homeless man who stop and asked me if I have a spare change which I did not have. Despite the fact that I had nothing to give him, he gave me a hug that I can't forget, the hug that come unexpected yet so beautiful. God usually pack a lot of power and strength into tiny little packages, in the most humble way.
