Follow Jesus, Deny Yourself, Carry the Cross

Follow Jesus
Deny yourself
Carry your cross

I still remember the first time I heard this verse was when I was in senior high school. I did a retreat in Tumpang during my school break. I remember my first reaction when a Catholic priest utter these three things. I consider them as a very important message from God to us, which a must and have to do things for everyone of us. I wrote it down quickly on my notes so I won't forget (I wasn't the type who takes a note during any talks), and start repeating it again and again during the retreat until they are deeply engrained in my heart and the note won't be necessary any more.

Talk ourselves into our own purposes, mutter the book of law which is inside us, make it happen with our faiths. There are something bigger than yourself, talk yourself about it, have courage to advocate these people who needs help. Holy spirit is comforter, Jesus come to the world to bring change, to confront and sometimes create conflict. Talk yourself into that God will never forsake you despite your excuses. Go outside of our comfort zone, be brave and fulfilled, and have a content life.

Happy Valentine's Day 💜❤💛💞💗💕💖💘💙💚

Smile

How to Win Friends and Influence People Dale Carnegie It costs nothing, but creates much. It enriches those who receive, without impoverishing those who give. It happens in a flash and the memory of it sometimes lasts forever. None are so rich they can get along without, and none so poor but are richer for its benefits.  It creates happiness in the home, fosters good will in a business, and is the countersign of friends. It is rest to the weary, daylight to the discouraged, sunshine to the sad, and Nature´s best antidote for trouble. Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed, or stolen, for it is something that is no earthly good to anybody till it is given away.  And if in the last-minute rush of Christmas buying someone should be too tired to give you a smile, maybe we can leave one of ours for them. For nobody needs a smile so much as those who have none left to  give !  give ! https://www.thesun.co.uk/living/23...

Entitlement

People say our young generation is entitled, it is a good topic to joke about for the stand-up comedians. Entitled is believing oneself to be inherently deserving of privileges or special treatment. I believe this is not owned by the young generation only, every generation has it, every one of us has it to some degree. This is a problem we have in society in any age, in any countries in this world. I remember when I was a kid, at night during the hot season our house was filled with mosquitos, and dengue fever are quite common in our country.  I can't remember whether I and my sister ever whined about it but I always remember the fact that my mother often stayed up late holding the insects killer racket just to defended us from the mosquitoes. However, My entitlement behaviour took the bad on me, I thought she ought to do that one because she is our mother, it's her duties to protect us. I did not really care how many hours she has spent at our room every night, or whethe...

Addiction

Addiction is the fact or condition of being addicted to a particular substance or activity. Addiction usually start with pain and end with pain. People will turn to addiction as an escape from their 'hard to deal with' current circumstances. Addiction have negative connotation but in my opinion addiction can be good and bad. But anything that not being done in moderation tends to bring more harm and good.  However, the dichotomy of bad and good, can we really be able to distinguish them? In my own opinion again there is no such things as true good and true bad, all good and all bad. It all depends on our own perceptions and our current states when it's happen. What is good now might not be good again tomorrow, the thing that is good now was not good yesterday. If we are battling with any addiction today, let's all of us be kind to ourselves. We should all acknowledge our addictions and bring them to the lights, but we shouldn't condemn them. We are what we are now b...
